Haiger, July 21, 2023 – Mark3D today announces a landmark collaboration agreement with KUKA Robotics, a world-renowned manufacturer of industrial robots. This strategic partnership combines the expertise of both companies and will help expand the possibilities of 3D printers and robotic technology for users.
The use of robots and industrial 3D printers is increasingly revolutionizing the production landscape. In particular, the combination of both technologies offers groundbreaking possibilities in industrial production. The cooperation between Mark3D and KUKA Robotics aims to create innovative solutions to optimize 3D printing processes through the use of robots and vice versa to improve robotic technology through customized 3D printed components.
Mark3D has developed custom robotic grippers that enable efficient loading and unloading of 3D printers. In addition, they manufacture high-quality components for robots and gripping technology with Markforged 3D printers. These custom-made grippers enable precise handling of products during the printing process and significantly increase the productivity and reliability of automated manufacturing processes. In addition, the grippers are reinforced with continuous carbon fibers and withstand mechanical loads. The strength of aluminum can be achieved with this technology.
The first results of the cooperation will be presented to the public at the “all about automation” trade fair in Wetzlar, which will take place in September. There, visitors can experience live how the synergy effects of 3D printing and robot technology are setting new standards in automated production.
