The netRAPID90 Chip Carrier is a solderable multiprotocol solution and is designed for integration in compact and intelligent field devices, to add an industrial network interface or application processing power. Typical areas of use are drives, measurement & control technology or IIoT devices.
netRAPID90 comes in a ultra-compact format of 15x32x4 mm and can be used in temperature ranges up to +85°C. It offers an integrated Cortex M4 application processor for data processing and is available in various memory options. Due to a built-in crypto-core netRAPDI90 is “secure by design” and the perfect platform for secure communication.
The chip carrier executes all communication tasks autonomously and independent of the target device’s application processor. The exchange of the process data to an external host processor is done via a 16kByte Dual-Port-Memory using a 50 MHz SPI interface.
netRAPID90 allows the usage of all major Fieldbus and Real-Time Ethernet protocols as Slave. Exactly one hardware supports all Industrial Ethernet and Fieldbus protocols. A change of the communication protocol is done by simply loading a different firmware.
Besides Real-Time Ethernet communication, netRAPID90 includes an integrated Webserver and a transparent Ethernet channel, to realize own IT solutions in the host processor of the device. For vertical network integration, an upgrade to integrate OPC UA server or MQTT client functionality is available.
